I was an exchange student myself (although not to Germany, and for a longer time), so this sort of thing is close to my heart. ^^

Wow. Lots of us here, I guess! What program for you?

I lived for a year in Japan. That's actually why I joined this site--I was really worried because I couldn't think in English after I came back and of course hadn't really practiced writing much in English while I was there. I was a little panicked when I found that I couldn't put sentences together, let alone write with any eloquence, so I joined RoM as a crash-course to make myself write again, sorta. :P I'm glad I did.

Had you studied any French before you went? You must have learned a lot while you were there! Did you stay with a host family?

Yeah it has been fantastic! The family I'm staying with are really nice so I'm having a great time :D

It's great to know some other people have been done this road before. I don't feel as lonely anymore XD haha

Um I'm not quite sure what part of the world you are from but I live in Australia so there's this Institute in Melbourne called the Goether Institute which organises exchanges, cources and other programs/workshops involving german, they even get german bands out there to play at concerts in Melbourne. So it's pretty cool :)

I learnt french for a while at my old school before I moved to the one I'm in now, I really enjoyed learning french though and some of my friends are learning japanese too.

I know what you mean about trying to again think back in english.
It has taken me a while just to even write this reply, I keep writing every in german then having to go over it again in english takes a while but I think I'm slowing getting the hang of it. I should be back home in week or so.
But I'm enjoying myself to much to wanna think about leaving hehe
