This is just an apology for not logging on much recently and an explanation of why I might still not be able to for a bit. This summer has been really busy with various classes, but the coming weeks are looking especially hectic. Like a lot of people here, I'm getting ready to go to college, which for me happens to include international travel, something that's counter-productive to posting, to say the least. As of next Wednesday I'll be in New York City and then fly out of JFK with my classmates on the 3rd. I don't know how long it will take to get oriented, but hopefully I'll be able to get back on again a week or so after that. I'll try to get posts done to those I owe them to before I leave, but I'm hesitant to make any promises. I'm really sorry for the delay!

So, basically, if I keep popping in and out sporadically without and rhyme or reason, that's more or less why.

And good luck to everyone else who's off to college! Let's all have a fantastic year.

Just an update—

Internet here is really bad. There’s none in my host family’s home, and even that at my college internet is sporadic at best, and only works on about a third of the laptops (of which mine is not one). There are many internet cafes, but if you bring your laptop and someone sees you using it outside they might wait until you come out and steal it from you, so that’s a no-go. Carrying my laptop to the college is also risky, especially after night has fallen. I think that what I’ll probably end up doing is mostly leave my laptop at home, download relies from the college’s computers onto a flash drive, write at home and then bring them back on the flash drive to post from the college. Not the quickest way, certainly, but probably the safest.
